2nd Annual Bacon Fest

UPDATE: Bacon Fest has been rescheduled and will take place on August 8. Prom on the Parkway will take place on Wednesday, August 13.

Philadelphia’s largest Bacon Festival is back for another year of bacon (Kevin and actual)-mania. Enjoy free samples of Maple Bacon, Turkey Bacon, Chicken Bacon and Beef Bacon from Godshall’s Quality Meats before diving into a unique bacon creation from one of the delicious food trucks on site, including Local 215, Mama’s Meatballs, Dadz Grilled Cheese, The Tot Cart, Curbside Creamery and Sweet Box Cupcakes. From a bacon and blue cheese meatball to bacon maple pancake cupcakes these trucks are sure to satisfy your bacon cravings

In additional to free bacon, Godshall’s will be pulling out all the stops with recipes, contests and lots of bacon fun, including a bacon space capsule that will be launched into “space” by the Franklin Institute.

At 6:00pm, Chef Jack McDavid will show guests how to create amazing bacon dishes. Familiar to viewers from his countless appearances on National Culinary programs, including Grillin’ and Chillin’ with his co-host Bobby Flay, and Taste of the NFL, Chef Jack McDavid’s denim overalls and relaxed gentlemanly demeanor are his unique trademark, known coast to coast. While National Celebrity and recognition has made Chef McDavid an icon, his dedication remains to locally sourced, fresh foods and honest American flavors. His two Philadelphia restaurants, Jack’s Firehouse and the Downhome Diner have won critical acclaim.

At 8:00pm finish your night of bacon-filled festivities with a showing of Apollo 13 on The Awesome Fest’s giant screen! Bring a chair or a blanket to lay on the grass and enjoy this Kevin Bacon classic.
